We are back from our 4 day trip to Albania. It was awesome and there is so much to write about!
However, I am going to write about what we did today. Our District leader called us today and said we were going to do tracting. We weren't sure what he meant by that but at 4:30 we showed up at the church to meet the missionaries. We piled in our cars and drove and drove. We had no idea where we were by the time our Zone Leader stopped the car and we piled out. It was a cold, windy day. Kim did not wear any kind of jacket and Elder Cz. had decided that we were going to have District Conference outside. In no man's land. We had prayer, said the mission purpose if you spoke Greek, and talked about the goals we set last week and how we did. Meanwhile, the wind is blowing. Elder Cz. from Switzerland said to jump up and down if we were cold. That's what they did in the military. See...now you are warm. Then we divided up the neighborhood and went door to door tracting after a pep talk.
Sister T. was my companion. She is from Germany and did all the talking since I don't speak anything but hello in Greek. We had many people call from their balcony or window since everyone had a gate where you buzz a bell to reach them. They were very nice but no one was interested.
The missionaries asked if we liked Mexican food and they took us to a restaurant nearby. It had lots of tables under the stars with trees and greenery and it even looked a little Mexican with the paper cut outs that you find in Mexico hung in the trees, etc. My tostado was interesting. It had a flour tortilla on the bottom, Greek salad and grilled chicken on the top. It was yummy. The onions and green peppers were grilled so it was totally authentic. It was nice to sit and enjoy the fruits of our labors!
No, I could not eat all of it which is okay because that means leftovers! We are getting more comfortable knowing where we are and what we need to do. It would almost be perfect if we miraculously knew Greek and where we were going and could read labels in the store and .....
